Ghosting

👻 This isn't my first post about the lovely practice of 'ghosting' in the job market and probably won't be the last.

👻 In the last fortnight I have had 5 current coaching clients complaining about receiving no feedback after attending an interview. Not an application, or even a phone call but real life, in person interviews. 2 of these individuals were at second interview stage.

👻 Seriously? At what point did this become acceptable? If you're struggling the answer is never. The mind boggles at the thought processes that go on behind the scenes. Interview candidate. Ignore them. Candidate follows up by email, ignore them. Candidate calls. Ignore them.

👻 The impact on a job seeker's morale and mental health is huge, particularly in such a tough market. If you're currently recruiting please think about the person on the other side of the table. And if you think it's acceptable to ghost people after an interview then drop me a line and I'll politely talk you though why it's not.
