🏜️ What's the job market doing I hear you cry. We're half way though March and still no signs of those elusive green shoots of recovery. Or is there?

🥷 The great and good of the Auckland recruitment sector gathered at The Hilton Hotel last Tuesday. I snuck in though the side door, just in time to listen to the wise words of Blair Chapman, Senior Economist at SEEK.

📊 We spent an hour watching a series of graphs detailing the economic doom of the last two years in NZ and Australia and the shambles that has been the job market. Which could have been very depressing, except that each of those graphs ended with an upwards squiggle. Yes, the the man of the hour was giving us hope that good (or better) times are just ahead. 

🌱 And what do you know, the numbers of vacancy listings on SEEK are rising. Not by much but we've just seen the best two weeks of activity in months. Whisper it but he might just know his stuff, Blair. Or Nostradamus as he may well come to be known.
